PHILLY TOWN T-SHIRT CO. presents:
New Philly 250, Semiquincentennial Collection
Ben Franklin T-Shirts
|
During the 1976 Bicentennial, Philly Town 76, a local Delaware County T-Shirt start-up, was hugely successful selling “Boogie on Down to Philly Town” souvenir T-Shirts, peddling over 10,000 through a small group of street vendors. "Boogie Ben", the endearing caricature of Franklin, was a favorite with the visitors and locals alike. Ben made a connection with the youth of the day, identifying with the cultural transformation and the rebellious sentiments. |
